Xiaomi Delivers Respiratory Masks To Italy To Help Them In Their Fight Against Coronavirus

An electronics company from China has been delivering crate after crate of respiratory masks to Italy to help them in their fight against coronavirus. The Chinese company believes that the plight of Italy in the face of death is painful for the entire human population.

China Daily has reported that the famous company Xiaomi has delivered FFP3 respiratory masks to one of the working bodies of the Italian government responsible for the coordinated distribution of said masks to the public.

The company distributed the crates with flyers on top with ‘Mi’ written on them. Also, they recited Seneca in the crates, to express solidarity and oneness in the face of a cataclysm.

We are waves of the same sea, leaves of the same tree, flowers of the same garden.

Siamo onde dello stesso mare, foglie dello stesso albero, fiori dello stesso giardino

Italy has crossed China in the number of deaths alone during the coronavirus pandemic, and the numbers don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Unfortunately, Italy had a much lesser population than China, so when this erodes away, it would be much harder for Italy to rebuild its economy.

Xiaomi has found itself a niche in the tech world owing to the massive collection of products it brings to the market. From cutting edge phones at very affordable prices to quirky items like mini smart washing machines and tennis shoes, Xiaomi is one of the leaders in today’s world.

And considering Italians quite exuberantly accepted this company when they opened up their first stores in Italy, we can understand where their compassion generates from.

Chew Shou Zi, CFO, and president of International Xiaomi Corporation said in a statement:

“The continuous growth and rapid expansion of Xiaomi in Italy are closely linked to our users, fans and the general public; this gesture therefore does not represent only a way to thank and to give our support, but it is the tangible demonstration that we feel like an integral part of this country. And it is precisely this sense of belonging, combined with deep solidarity, that imposes a high sense of responsibility on all citizens as a global company.”

Most users lauded the efforts of this company in supplying the respiratory masks. Some went so far as to call them a community that takes care of its own.

Since the first massive outbreak of coronavirus, Italians have been hit with the worst of it. Every single day, at least 6500 Italians are diagnosed with Covid 19, with the average age of death set at 78 years. The death toll for the last 4 weeks has been close to 5400, more than 600 people dying on Sunday alone.

This country is trying its best to stop the continuous chain of death that has gripped the nation, and the supply of the respiratory masks will hopefully help them contain the spread.
