Have You Seen This Unicorn Dog? She Has An Ear Right In The Center Of Her Head!

By 8 months ago

Although Rae suffered quite a traumatic injury at birth, it did propel her to a life of a celeb. This golden retriever did have to go through an emergency surgery and needed medical care for quite a long period of time. The unicorn dog’s left ear was amputated at a hospital in Michigan and her present carer Brianna Aardema believed that she fell in love at the first glimpse.

“The minute I saw her, I knew I wanted to raise her and be there for her even though I knew the road to recovery wouldn’t always be easy,” Brianna a told Good Morning America.

While there were concerns raised about the loss of an ear and how it would affect Rae’s hearing, everyone was quite surprised to see no changes taking place except her right ear moving towards the center of her head. After it fixed itself like a horn, the name Unicorn Dog came easy.

After Brianna adopted this golden retriever, they started living like a family. Rae was treated with the utmost care and attention which she deserved. Soon Brianna opened an Instagram account for the dog called @goldenunicornrae. Since then, the account has completely blown up with close to 50k followers, and around 3 million viewers on TikTok.

While there has definitely been quite an outpouring of admiration and praise from people all around the world, Rae is careful enough to not let those go to her head.

With Rae’s unique look, she is officially a part of the group that includes the dog Narwhal. Narwhal was found in a dumpster sometime last year by NGOs, and after a thorough medical check-up along with proper care, it was found out that he had a tail through his forehead. Needless to say, this reminded everyone of the Narwhal whale and hence the name stuck.

After an X-ray confirmed that there was no imminent threat to the health of Narwhal due to the extra tail, he was soon all over the news as people sped up for adoption. The entire hubbub died down only after the founder of the non-profit organization that rescued him decided to adopt him. She plans on training Narwhal to be a therapy dog.

Mac’s Mission, the non-profit is solely based on rescuing animals, predominantly dogs who would be up for euthanasia. These dogs might have some physical anomaly that makes then a black sheep in their family- a trait that could be passed generation to generation. Instead of euthanasia, this organization strives to relocate the dogs in loving homes where they would be taken care of.

Guess the ‘unicorn’ dog is really living the fairy tale life now.
